Valerie Ann’s Boutique Snazzy and Jazzy, located at 1419 Maple Ave, Zanesville, part of Buchanan Square, celebrated its one-year anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 14.
The boutique features both women’s and children’s clothing in the two-story shop space. The first floor is dedicated to women’s clothes and shoes with brands such as Judy Blues, KanCan, and Spring Step Shoes.
Gutridge moved Vintage Charm & Glitter, which was previously located at the Freight Shops in Zanesville, to the second floor. A selection of girls’ clothing can be found there, as well as rooms dedicated to hosting tea parties and private events.
“Tea parties, they can be for birthdays. There doesn’t have to be a reason. … And then we set up everything, depending on the amount of kids,” said Gutridge. So, I have all the tea cups, real tea cups, and everything we use. We supply the cookie, or sweet treat, or whatever the person wants, and whatever theme, if they want a theme, we do that. And then, along with that, we always do a craft, and then we always do, depending on the age, we do like a dress-up. The kids have a stage upstairs, and they dress up in princess dresses and things like that. And then also, we do glitter in the hair, and some light makeup, and things, if that’s what they choose, as well. So, yeah, it’s a lot of fun seeing the girls all getting excited.”
Gutridge has noticed a big difference in traffic to her business since relocating Vintage Charm & Glitter and opening Valerie Ann’s Boutique in Buchanan Square.
“I call this my little Hallmark Village, and so, you know, you can go to the Bistro and eat, you come here and shop, you can go to The Rustic Route and shop, you can go to the Bridal Shop and Prom Shop beside us. … There’ll be some events, you know, coming up that we all plan together for the public to be able to be part of and stuff during the holidays,” Gutridge explained.
