West Muskingum boys soccer had two straight wins before falling to St. Clairsville to end regular season

Vs. St. Clairsville (10/23)

The Tornadoes traveled out to St. Clairsville on Thursday to face the Red Devils. Despite the Devils setting the pace early,  West landed a goal in the first half that was answered and doubled by the Red Devils to lead at the half 2 – 1. 

Back on the field after a short break, the Tornadoes were hoping to even out the score, but they were held back by St. Clairsville’s defense.  The Devils found the net one more time for the evening and kept the 3 – 1 victory for themselves.

West Muskingum sophomore Dyllan Farmer hit the sole goal for the Tornadoes with an assist by junior Aiden Metz.

For West M, freshman Weston Ritchie had seven saves for the Tornadoes, and junior Brooks McCune had five saves. 

Vs. Sandy Valley (10/21)

Tuesday night in West Zanesville, the Tornadoes hosted the Cardinals.  It was a matchup that felt like it was not going to end anytime soon, with the two defenses battling it out while holding back shots. In the end, the Tornadoes landed the only score for the game with the team up of Dyllan Farmer scoring off of an assist by Aiden Metz to get the win.

Junior Brooks McCune had 10 saves for the Tornadoes.

Vs. Philo (10/16)

The Philo team made a visit to Kimes Road on Thursday to play the Tornadoes. West dominated the game from start to finish, landing four goals in the first half while shutting down the Electrics’ offense. 

Philo stepped up for a goal in the second half, but they were not able to rally, especially against the West Muskingum lineup, which landed goal after goal to win the matchup 8 – 1.

For the match, sophomore Dyllan Farmer had two goals, sophomore Austin Fink had one assist, as well as classmate Gray Knowlon. Junior Brooks McCune had a goal, junior Aiden Metz followed suit, along with one assist, senior Jaxson Prang had two goals, and sophomores Ronin Swope and Gavyn Johnson each had a goal. Junior Dylan Benitez had three assists in the game.

Weston Ritchie had one save for the Tornadoes, while Books McCune had three saves.
