Hundreds of attendees gathered to celebrate Dresden’s melon growing heritage on Saturday, August 4th for the 11th Annual Melon Festival which was held at the Dresden River Park. Vendors, a stage, and activities, lined both sides of the paved bike path that runs along the Muskingum River. There was a full schedule of events that ran the entire day and catered to all age groups. A nice variety of food was for sale from local organizations as well as refreshing drinks and lemon shake-ups which were certainly welcomed on a very hot day. The Dresden Melon Festival is an outstanding event for our community put on by an amazing group of volunteers. Thank you, Dave and Donna Mathew and The Friends of the Dresden Parks for putting on this event for 11 years and counting!!!
