Obituary: Jeffrey A. King

Jeffrey A. King, 60, of Dresden, died Saturday afternoon, June 4, 2022, after he succumbed to an aneurysm and lost control of his vehicle while driving.

Born January 21, 1962 in Zanesville, he was the son of Juanita (Gard) King and the late Louis King.  He was a 1980 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 399 and VFW Dresden Post 11072.  Jeff was the life of the party, the loudest one in the room and had a heart of gold.  He lived his life wholeheartedly, caring about everyone and never knowing a stranger.  Whether it was helping on the board for Village of Dresden, doing construction for a friend or watching his grandsons, he would never shy away from helping others.  Jeff was an avid hunter, fisherman and mushroom picker, he taught the rules of the forest to anyone that wanted to listen.  After retiring from AEP as a UMWA member he used his skills as an operator to do crane work for Horner excavation.  Jeff was the former owner of the Thirsty Dawg Drive Thru in Dresden and a full-time grandpa, nothing lit him up quite like playing with his grandsons.  If you knew Jeff, you were honored and blessed as was he, his legacy will live on in every friend and family member.

Surviving is his son, Jacobey (Caylee) King of Dresden; mother, Juanita King; two grandchildren, Mordcai and Kire King; a sister, Lynn (Lance) Curtis; a brother, Randy (Peggy) King; two nephews, Darin and Dustin Ryan and a niece, Amanda King.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tina King.

Friends and family may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 10, 2022 with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.
