David Allen Lacy, 70 of Dresden, died Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022 at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
Born May 28, 1952 in Zanesville, a son of June (Smith) Lacy and the late Robert Lacy. He was a 1970 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and volunteered on the Dresden Fire Department since 1968. Dave worked for Tri-Valley Local Schools in the maintenance department right out of school till 1973 and the Muskingum County Sheriff Office as a detective and road deputy from January 1973 to December 1980. He retired after 31 years of service from the Zanesville Fire Department where he served as Assistant Chief in 1991 and Fire Chief from 2003 to 2011. Dave was the Past President of the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association and owner of the Scottie’s Den in Dresden.
Surviving is his mother, June Lacy of Dresden; four siblings, Teresa (Robert) Grewell, Annette (Kelly) Boals, Kay (Tim) Agin and Erin Lacy; several nieces and nephews, and three close friends, Scott (Julie) Ford, Brent Gates and Mitch (Valerie) Mitchell.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie E. Conrad and a great niece, Kandace Boals-Hill.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s name to the Dresden Fire Department, P.O. Box 687, Dresden, Ohio 43821.
Friends and family may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Dresden United Methodist Church, 1014 Main Street, Dresden.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00am with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.
David will be laid to rest at the Dresden Cemetery.
