John Glenn baseball has a rough start after being downed by the Tornadoes

With the visit from MVL rival West Muskingum, the Lil’ Muskies were hoping to prove themselves in their opening game but those hopes soon came crashing down as the Tornadoes destroyed their defenses.  West M grabbed their first two runs to take a 2 – 0 lead in the top of the second inning.  The top of the third inning saw the Tornadoes take a 7- 0 lead after a couple of wild pitches and a sacrifice fly to left field followed by a line drive to right field.

The Lion’s share of the rest of the West Muskingum scoring came in the top of the fifth inning when a couple of line-drive hits came from Anton to right field, and from Fowler to center field.  The game ended with the Tornadoes sweeping up an 11 – 0 victory to take home with them.

The Muskies will be playing in Claymont on Friday and will be back at home on Saturday against Athens.  Game time is set for 12 PM.
