John Glenn vs Wheeling Park (4/16)

The Patriots joined the Muskies in New Concord for Tuesday’s Match. From the start the Muskies knew the match was going to be a tough one as the Patriots jumped out to a 3 – 1 lead at the end of the first quarter.  John Glenn fought back and found the net again in the second quarter but so did Wheeling Park and they found it three more times, ending the half up 6 – 2.

After the break, the New Concord team hit the field with new determination and fought hard to try and keep up with the Patriots.  They outplayed the Wheeling Park team 2 – 1 in the third quarter but still went into the final minutes of play down 7 – 4.  The Patriots returned to their posts and started cracking down ending the game up 10 – 6.

John Glenn vs Jonathan Alder (4/13)

In Pioneers territory the Lil Muskies met up with the team from Jonathan Alder, for a battle that saw a lot of ups and downs for John Glenn but they held their own against an onslaught of points from the Pioneers.  The Muskies had the score with seven points with just eight minutes left in the game as JAHS was up 19 – 12.  They could not recover fully, however, and lost to the Pioneers by a score of 22 – 15.

John Glenn vs Linsly (4/11)

The Lil’ Muskies met up with the Linsly Cadets on Muskingum University’s North Turf Field on Thursday.  John Glenn shot two quick goals taking a 2 – 0 lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Cadets were unable to slow down the Muskies as they advanced hitting the net three more times to send the Cadets to halftime down 5 – 0.

After the intermission, the Muskies hit the field again dominating their competition with fast moves and finding the gap anywhere they could to drive in two more points taking a 7 – 0 lead into the final minutes of the game.  The Cadets couldn’t get past the John Glenn defenses as the Lil’ Muskies finished the game with a 10 – 0 score.

John Glenn vs Columbus Academy (4/10)

The Vikings hosted John Glenn at the Columbus Academy on Saturday. After a long-fought battle in the first quarter of play, the Vikings were up 5 – 0 going into the second quarter.

The Lil’ Muskies were able to find the net once before halftime but not before the Columbus Academy had built an 11 – 1 deficit.

After halftime, the Muskies were determined to catch up while holding the Vikings back from getting any more points.  They were able to stop the point barrage from the other side, but were only able to up their point total by 1 going into the fourth and final quarter down 11 – 2.  In a last-minute rally, the Lil’ Muskies were able to land not just one but three more goals to close in the point gap to 11 – 5, but unfortunately, they fell to the Vikings.

John Glenn vs Louisville (4/6)

The Muskies road the bus to Louisville on Saturday to play the Leopards.  John Glenn dominated the field in the first quarter of play taking a 7 – 0 lead right out of the gate.  The second quarter was not any better for the Leopards as the Lil’ Muskies built a 14 – 0 lead heading into halftime.  

After the break, both teams were at a stalemate with defenses on high alert as they both went scoreless throughout the third quarter.  The final minutes of play on the field were a close battle between the two teams with John Glenn just edging out Louisville 2 – 1 for the quarter but ending the game up 16 – 1 overall.
