Maysville Panthers baseball hoping to overcome a rough start to their season

Maysville vs John Glenn (4/15 – 4/16)

For the first of two games against the Lil’ Muskies John Glenn took an early 4 – 1 lead in the second inning but the Panthers tied up the game in the top of the seventh inning at 4 – 4.  The Muskies were able to grab the final run in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a tight 5 – 4 win.

In game two, however, John Glenn’s batting lineup came alive with a massive 5 – 1 lead in the fourth inning followed by a seven-run fifth inning to wrap up scoring for both teams as the Lil’ Muskies took the sweep with a 12 – 1 win.

Maysville vs River View (4/9 – 4/10)

The Black Bears and the Panthers split their series on Tuesday and Wednesday with both teams squaring off pretty evenly in game one tied 2 – 2 in the bottom of the fifth inning but then in the bottom of the sixth inning, Maysville grabbed the two go-ahead runs to get a 4 – 2 win.  

During game two of the series the Panthers were up with a score of 5 – 3 in the top of the fifth inning but this time the Black Bears had a five-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning to take what would be the final lead of 8 – 5 for the win.

Maysville vs Sheridan (4/6)

The Generals traveled to Maysville on Saturday to take a shot at the Panthers.  Both teams were battling it out through a scoreless first three innings until Sheridan picked up a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning.  The Generals were able to shutout the Maysville offense and walked away with a 2 – 0 victory.

Maysville vs Logan (4/5)

The Panthers took an early lead against the visiting Chieftains on Friday as they jumped out to a 3 – 0 start in the first inning of the game.  Logan came back in the fourth inning to add two runs of their own but the Panthers added another run at the bottom of the inning keeping a 4 – 2 lead.  The Chieftains fired up their batting lineup in the fifth inning to take a 7 – 4 lead but Maysville battled back with a run in the bottom of the fifth followed by another run in the bottom of the seventh inning but they fell just short of catching Logan and took a loss of 7 – 6.
