Mid-East CTC students earn medals during SkillsUSA State Championships

Mid-East Career and Technology Centers students from the Buffalo and Zanesville Campuses competed at the SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships at the Greater Columbus Convention Center earlier this month. Several students earned gold, silver, and bronze medals. Those students are listed below.

• Career Pathways Showcase – Arts & Communications – Gold – Laikyn Clark, Mackenzie Krenisky, Haylee McNeish – Graphic Art & Design, Buffalo Campus

• Cosmetology – Gold – Alyvia Hinkle – Cosmetology, Zanesville Campus

• Job Skill Demonstration A – Gold – Priscilla Garrett – Restaurant & Food Service Operations, Zanesville Campus

• Television/Video Production – Gold – CieCie Gensley, Kamryn Love – Digital Media, Zanesville Campus

• Electronics Technology – Silver – Jarod Anders – Computer Networking/Electronic Technology (CNET), Zanesville Campus

• T-shirt Design – Silver – Nataleigh Reigle-Parr – Graphic Art & Design, Buffalo Campus

• Information Technology Services – Bronze – Zak Eck – CNET, Zanesville Campus

• Practical Nursing – Bronze – Mattie Jarrett – Practical Nurse, Zanesville Campus

According to the ohioskillsusa.org website, over 100 contests in 16 Career Pathways are part of the competition. Thousands of students compete every year so earning a medal is quite an accomplishment for these students.

Gold medal winners including the teams of CieCie Gensley and Kamryn Love, and Laikyn Clark, Mackenzie Krenisky, and Haylee McNeish as well as two individuals, Alyvia Hinkle and Priscilla Garrett will move on to the National Leadership & Skills Conference which will be held in June in Atlanta, Georgia.
