Registration now open for Dorados swim team – swim action starts June 5

The Dorados are a recreational swim team hosted by the Dresden Swim Center for swimmers ages 6-18 of any skill level although anyone participating must be able to swim 25 yds without assistance. Swimmers will learn competition strokes and skills during the program! The season runs from May 28 to July 20.

Registration is now open through the Dorados website, dresdendorados.swimtopia.com. The first practice will be held at the Dresden Swim Center on May 28. Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 5 to 6 p.m. for 10 and under, and 6 to 7:30 p.m. for 11 and older although schedules are subject to change. The team is part of the Tri-County Aquatic League which also includes teams from Franklin, Licking, and Fairfield counties. There are three home meets and three away meets scheduled this year plus the Championships that are held at the Dresden Swim Center. Meets are normally on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. The cost to register is $135 for the first swimmer in a family, $120 for the second, $105 for the third, and $55 for each additional child. A Dorado shirt and team cap are included with the registration fee. An additional $13 League fee will be assessed during registration. Late registrations (after May 19) will require an additional late fee of $25. A trunk sale will be held on April 27th from 10 a.m. to noon for purchasing discounted team suits.
