The Lady Fighting Muskies are 6 – 2 in conference play after a number of big wins

Muskingum vs Wilmington doubleheader (4/14)

The Willmington Quakers visited New Concord on Sunday to play a doubleheader against the Fighting Muskies.  Game one started with Muskingum jumping out to a 3 – 0 lead after two innings both teams had a two-run third inning and the Quakers tied the game at five in the top of the seventh inning but the Muskies came back in the bottom of the eighth to win the game 8 – 7.

The Muskies were on a roll starting game two as they went 4 – 0 by the bottom of the second inning.  After four innings they were ahead 4 – 0 and then wrapped up the game with a 4-run fourth inning to take the game with a score of 8 – 0 and sweep the doubleheader against Willmington.

Muskingum vs Baldwin Wallace doubleheader (4/13)

Muskingum handed the Yellow Jackets a loss on Saturday when they traveled to the Baldwin Wallace campus.  The Muskies pulled out a 2 – 0 lead in the top of the third inning, that was the final score for the game as they won 2 – 0 in game one.

Baldwin Wallace took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a 1 – 0 score.  After a few scoreless innings, the Muskies dished out runs in the fifth and sixth innings to tie and take over the lead and win the game as well as sweep the doubleheader with a final score of 2 – 1.

Muskingum vs Ohio Northern doubleheader (4/9)

The Polar Bears visited New Concord on Tuesday for a softball doubleheader.  ONU took the first run of game one in the top of the first inning with a 1 – 0 lead.  The Muskies fought back in the fourth and fifth innings taking a 2 – 1 advantage, the Polar Bears took a run each in the sixth and eighth innings to win game one by 3 – 2.

During game two of the doubleheader, ONU went to work early on with a 2 – 0 lead in the top of the third inning, followed by three runs in the top of the fifth and one in the sixth to win the game and sweep the doubleheader with a 6 – 1 victory.

Muskingum vs Capital doubleheader (4/8)

The Fighting Muskies traveled to Capital University on Monday to play a doubleheader against the Comets.  In game one the Muskies took the first run in the top of the second inning to take a brief 1 – 0 lead before the Comets put up two runs in the bottom of the second.  The two teams went through four scoreless innings before the floodgates opened at the top of the seventh inning with the Muskies taking a 6-run inning giving Muskingum the 7 – 3 win.

The Muskies showed their strength in game two as they dominated the Comets and took a 1 – 0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, Muskingum went on to take two more runs in the sixth and seventh innings winning with a 3 – 1 score, and sweeping the doubleheader against Capital.
