Florafinos makes updates with customer’s needs in mind

Over the past month, Florafino’s Flowers and Gifts has been undergoing some expansive renovations in order to provide an outdoor showcase that will complement the indoor renovations that have already taken place.

The most obvious change took place at the beginning of last month when the old “house” that contained much of the original shopping space that was open to the public was torn down.

“The community has been great to us and we want to make your shopping experience even better!” owner Jessica Tysinger posted to the business’s Facebook page just after the building came down.

Tysinger explained, “It was kind of because parking was really really tight, I do think we’re going to have a couple more spots, but it won’t be near as tight regardless. Also, a big reason was to create the outdoor area for the hanging baskets and the patio pots in the spring and the summer. So we are currently building a little deck and pergola for over the top of that, just a nice showcase for our outdoor plants and patio pots.”

Tysinger estimates that most of the remodeling will be complete around Mother’s Day weekend. “We will still have all of our usual hanging baskets and patio pots for Mother’s Day.”

Additional improvements are in the works. “We are going to have a big mural down the side of the building, Kessler is doing new black and gold awnings for the building.”

The shop has been a staple in the community since 1983, providing “Flowers for all seasons and all reasons”. Tysinger took over ownership of the business in May of 2022.

About a year ago the interior showroom doubled in size due to expanding into two large sections of the next-door building that was formerly used as storage space.

“The brick building was always part of the property but it was always used as storage so we opened it up and turned it into showroom space. It’s allowed us to expand on the sympathy gifts. – We have sympathy frames, candles, angels, music boxes, shadow boxes, blankets, and chimes. We sell fresh-cut flowers all day, every day,” said Jessica.

Additionally, there are new grab-and-go coolers with ready-to-go floral arrangements that are stocked with a fresh selection every morning. Florafino’s also has a station set up where you can build your own corsage for prom or homecoming.

As you prepare for Mother’s Day on May 12 it is a great time to stop into Florafino’s Flowers and Gifts and see their changes and wide selection.
