Panthers baseball team took some hard hits against MVL rivals

Maysville vs Tri-Valley (4/29)

At Kenny Wolford Park on Monday, the Panthers were hoping to get past the Scotties but after just two innings the Tri-Valley was up 8 – 0.  After just five innings the Dawgs ended the game with a score of 10 – 0.

Maysville vs West Muskingum (4/25)

The Panthers pounced over the hill to nearby West Muskingum High School where they took on the Tornadoes on Thursday.  Right away they took a 3 – 1 lead by the time the first inning ended.  By the end of the third inning, the Tornadoes had turned the lead around taking a 4 – 3 advantage.  In the top of the fifth, Maysville landed three runs taking over the lead again with a 6 – 4 score, but West Muskingum didn’t let them have the lead for long as they blasted out a five-run inning to take the game 9 – 6.

Maysville vs Sheridan (4/24)

The Generals traveled from Thornville to Maysville on Wednesday to play the Panthers.  Sheridan took a quick 1 – 0 lead in the first inning that was tied up by Maysville in the bottom of the second.  Thanks to a double and a single in the top of the 3rd Sheridan took back the lead with a 4 – 1 gap.  In the top of the fifth inning Sheridan grabbed their last run of the game and pushed their lead to 5 – 1.  Maysville rallied back in the bottom of the fifth inning with a three-run inning but fell just shy of their opponent and lost the game by a score of 5 – 4 to the Generals.

Maysville vs Philo (4/23)

The Panthers were looking for a comeback after losing to Philo at home on Monday, so when they took the trip to Duncan Falls on Tuesday they felt they had a lot to prove.  From the start of the game, the Panthers were firing on all cylinders as they jumped out ahead with a 5 – 0 lead at the end of the first inning.  By the bottom of the third inning, Maysville was up 10 – 1.  Philo was not able to land another run while Maysville tacked on their final two to win game two by a score of 12 – 1.

Maysville vs Philo (4/22)

The Electrics traveled to nearby Maysville on Monday to play the Panthers.  Both teams started strong with a run each in the first inning.  Philo opened up their scoring in the second inning with a five-run rally taking a 6 – 2 lead after just two innings.  Maysville tried to keep up in the following innings but fell short as the Electrics pulled off a 13 – 9 victory.
