Electrics fall in key conference games by Matthew Dotson
Vs Shenandoah (1/18)
The Shenandoah Zeps made their way to Philo on Satur-
day to play the Electrics. Although the visitors were hoping to
disrupt Philo’s team, the Electrics just took them to task put-
ting up shot after shot and ultimately sending them home
empty-handed as the Electrics played out a 72 - 38 win.
The Electrics take on the neighboring West Muskingum Tornadoes
on Friday, January 24th at the Power Plant, game time is set for 7 PM.
Vs John Glenn (1/17)
The Power Plant hosted the John Glenn Lil’ Muskies on Fri-
day. The two teams seemed perfectly matched in the first
quarter as they went shot-for-shot with the Muskies just getting
past the Electrics with a 17 - 16 lead at the end of the first quar-
ter. In the second period, John Glenn launched forward with a
24-point quarter taking a commanding 41 - 28 lead into halftime.
The Muskies picked up right where they left off in the second half
as they pummeled the Philo defenses in the third quarter holding
the Electrics to 10 points while putting up 22 points of their own to
head into the fourth quarter up 63 - 38. The last minutes were a fight
to the finish with Philo matching the intensity of their visitors, but it
was not enough as John Glenn went home with the 83 - 57 victory.
Vs New Lexington (1/14)
The Panthers hosted the Philo Electrics on Tuesday in New Lex-
ington. Philo faltered from the beginning with the Panther pulling
out all stops taking a 16 - 3 lead at the end of the first quar-
ter. The Electrics stepped up in the second frame, but could not
catch up to the Panthers who took a 32 - 13 lead into halftime.
At the start of the second half, the Panthers hit the court harder
than before with a huge 23-point quarter blasting their lead up to
55 - 18 heading into the final quarter. The last few minutes flew
by with the running clock and Philo just couldn’t make enough
headway to recover, losing the game 59 - 23 to New Lexington.

Lady Dawgs holding top place in MVL as they move on to
Crooksville by Matthew Dotson
Vs Maysville (1/22)
Holding onto their top spot in the MVL Wednesday, the
Lady Dawgs took a massive victory over visiting rivals from
Maysville as they downed the Panthers in a 56 – 16 win.
Tri-Valley heads to Crooksville on Saturday, January 25th
for a 12:30 PM game.
Vs Ashland (1/20)
In one of only two losses for the season so far, both non-
conference the Lady Dawgs fell on their trip to Ashland in a
very close 43 – 41 game on Monday.
Vs River View (1/15)
The Lady Black Bears stepped onto Coach Rich Longa-
berger Court on Wednesday in Dresden to face the Scot-
ties. Tri-Valley made them regret their trip as they punished
them with a quick 20 – 1 lead at the end of the first period.
By halftime, the Warsaw team was hoping for mercy as
they hit the break down 43 – 5.
The second half of the game resumed with a running
clock and the Lady Black Bears were thankful for it as they
continued to try to stop the bleeding but the Scotties kept
putting up shots accounting for their 57 – 9 score advan-
tage rounding into the final quarter. When it was all said
and done, the Black Bears went how with a 63 – 17 loss on
the books.
Vs Philo (1/13)
In a runaway game against the Lady Electrics in Dresden
on Monday, the Scotties didn’t waste any time in flexing as
they started dominating the court taking a 13 – 4 lead by
the end of the first quarter. The train didn’t stop there as
the Lady Dawgs kept chugging along mounting a 27 – 8
halftime advantage over the visiting Philo team.
After the intermission, the game rolled along quickly
as the two teams battled, Philo was able to pick up some
