Maysville’s split saw them lose on the road but win their
home opener by Matthew Dotson
Maysville Vs Lakewood (8/30)
On their own home field, the Panthers
were ready for the Lancers on Friday. It
didn’t take long to prove their dominance
on the field as the Panthers lit up the score-
board for two touchdowns in the first quarter
of play with a 13 – 6 advantage heading into
the second quarter.
With the train in motion, Maysville
wasn’t about to stop as they piled on the
touchdowns on the road to a 28 – 6 halftime
lead.
After the break, the Lancers were able
to bolster their score but not enough to over-
come the Panthers and they took the home
opener with a score of 35 – 12.
Maysville Vs John Glenn (8/23)
On the road to New Concord on Friday,
the Panthers were hoping to get a big win
over their MVL rival. The Lil’ Muskies were
well prepared for their first game of the sea-
son as they held the Panther’s offense down
while piling on 35 points in the first half of
the game thanks to touchdowns by Owen
Edwards, Andrew Glaub, Ryder Pennington,
and Jake Johnson.
Both teams battled it out in the second
half but the Muskies were not going to let it
go as they punched in one more touchdown
thanks to Lincoln Gilcher with just over 10
minutes left in the game to cap the John
Glenn score at 42 to Maysvilles 0.
