Pre-register now and celebrate at MCLS Summer Reading kick-off events

The Muskingum County Library System (MCLS) is getting ready to launch another exciting summer of reading, and it all starts with pre-registration and a week of Summer Reading Kick-Off events across Muskingum County.

Pre-registration is now open for the 2025 Summer Reading Program, giving readers of all ages the chance to sign up early, explore activities, and get ready to track their reading beginning June 1.

To celebrate, each MCLS location will host a kick-off event filled with fun activities, giveaways, and opportunities to register in person. If you have pre-registered, claim your Summer Reading bag and participate in the fun at any kick-off event.

  • Dresden Branch Library – Friday, May 31
  • Roseville Branch Library – Monday, June 2
  • New Concord Branch Library – Tuesday, June 3
  • Duncan Falls/Philo Branch Library – Wednesday, June 4
  • South Branch Library – Thursday, June 5
  • John McIntire Library at the Reading Festival in partnership with the Muskingum County Literacy Council at the Colony Square Mall – Saturday, June 7

Each event is open to the public and designed for all ages to enjoy. Families, kids, teens, and adults are invited to stop by, sign up, and take part in the celebration.

Participants can also register and track their reading from anywhere using the Beanstack mobile app, which is available free in the app store.

This year’s Summer Reading Program runs from June 1 through July 31, with prizes, challenges, and activities designed to inspire readers and bring the community together. But first, it all starts with pre-registration and your local kick-off celebration.
