Vs Tri-Valley (2/04)
The Lil’ Muskies hopped on a bus to nearby Dresden to play the Scotties
in the Dawg House on Tuesday. Tri-Valley was waiting for them, charged
and ready to go, as they took the first quarter by storm in a rush 23 – 7
lead. The Muskies flipped the script in the second quarter to balance out
the score as much as they could but still went to halftime down 37 – 30.
After the break, the Dawgs and the Muskies were as close as they could
get but Tri-Valley had one extra point on them to end the period up 52 –
44. In the final minutes of play the Dawgs pulled out all of the stops and
dominated the final seconds taking a 71 – 53 victory over the visiting
Muskies.
Vs Morgan (1/31)
On the road to McConnelsville on Friday, the Muskies were looking
to take down a conference challenger and they did just that. From the
tipoff, John Glenn took charge laying down a 25 – 13 first quarter. With
33 points in the second quarter, it was clear that the Raiders were going
to need to do a lot of work to pull themselves out of the 58 – 18 hole at
the break.
Back in the game, John Glenn continued to punish the Raiders pushing
their lead up to 74 – 30 leaving no room for Morgan to stage a comeback
falling in the final seconds by a score of 82 – 35.
Stehl Bates had 19 points for the Muskies, Noah Dever had 15, CJ
Dolan had 15 and Brayden Davis had 8.
Vs River View (1/28)
New Concord hosted the visiting Black Bears on Tuesday. For most
games 13 points would be an impressive first frame but no when your
challenger takes a 26 – 13 lead by the end of the first quarter. The
Muskies doubled up in the second frame taking a massive 53 – 28 lead
heading into halftime.
After the break, the Black Bears stepped up to offer a challenge to their
hosts but fell three points shy of matching John Glenn in the third quarter
with a score of JG 73 – RV 45. The final minutes although close in score
didn’t allow for the Black Bears to recover and they lost to the Muskies
90 – 58.
Brayden Davis had a whopping 29 points for the Lil’ Muskies, Stehl
Bates had 14, CJ Dolan had 9, Cooper Briggs and Ben Stamm both had 8
points.
