Baseball Division V Sectional Champions Ridgewood Generals wrap up season

Vs. Harrison Central (5/28)

On the road in Zoarville, the Generals were hoping to upset the Huskies and grab a District Title on Thursday. Both teams battled without a run through the first five innings. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Harrison blasted forward with five big runs to lead 5 – 0. Ridgewood tried to answer back in the top of the seventh, but only managed two runs before being shut down by the Huskie defense, ending their playoff run with a Harrison 5 – 2 win.

Vs. St. Clairsville (5/26)

In West Lafayette on Tuesday, the Generals prepared for the Red Devils’ arrival. St. Clairsville hit the scoreboard right away, with a run in the first inning. Ridgewood tied the run in the bottom of the first, and grabbed a go-ahead run to lead 2 – 1. The Red Devils were able to tie the game at the top of the fourth inning with a run, 2 – 2. The Generals ended St. Clairsville scoring there, and added three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the game 5 – 2 and move on to the District Semifinal game.

Vs. Tri-Valley (5/21)

The Generals hosted the Scotties on Thursday. After three dry innings, the Generals took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, 3 – 0, followed by two runs in the bottom of the fifth, 5 – 0. Tri-Valley landed a run in the top of the sixth inning, but it was not enough to cover the deficit, and the Generals took the 5 – 1 win.

Vs. Morgan (5/19)

The Raiders faced the Generals at Ridgewood High School on Tuesday. Right away, Morgan took a 1 – 0 lead in the top of the first, but the Generals answered back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 1 – 1. In the bottom of the third inning, the Ridgewood dugout came alive as the Generals blasted out seven runs for an 8 – 1 lead. Morgan tried to retaliate as they pumped out a run at the top of the next inning, but the Generals stopped them there, 8 – 2. The hosts added four more runs for good measure as they took the 12 – 2 win and the Division V Sectional Title.
