Gregg Meadows selected as this year’s Dresden Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal

Gregg Meadows has been the Master of Ceremonies for the Dresden Homecoming since 1987, and covered the Frazeysburg, Dresden, and Adamsville Homecomings for the Dresden Post Transcript from 1992 to 2018.

Gregg is a 1975 Tri-Valley High School graduate. He attended Ohio State University Newark Campus for two years, and is a retired United States Air Force Veteran, serving his country from 1980 to 2003.

He started writing for the Dresden Post Transcript in 1979 and continued as the Sports Editor and news reporter until they closed their doors in 2018.

He has also been a contributing writer for the Dresden Buzz.

He is a member of the Charles M. Mitchell Post #399 Dresden American Legion, and has been the Master of Ceremonies for the annual Memorial Day Ceremony (sponsored by Post #399) at the Dresden Cemetery, since 2000.

Gregg has been the Public Address Announcer for Tri-Valley Scottie football since 1984, and is also the long-time girls and boys basketball games PA Announcer for the Scottie boys and Lady Dawgs as well.

He worked for Tri-Valley Schools as an educational aide until he retired in 2020 after 17 years.

He is currently the Tri-Valley High School Athletics Website Coordinator.

In 2006, Gregg was inducted into the Tri-Valley Schools Hall of Distinction.

Gregg and his wife Amy recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. He has four children – Katie, Sarah, Ryan, and Rachel, (all TVHS graduates) as well as three granddaughters, Emma, Mara, and Meadow.

“I am very honored to be this year’s Dresden Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall,” says Meadows.

“I never missed the Dresden Homecoming during my teenage and high school days in the 1970’s – it was always the place to be for four days in the summer, and a lot of fun.”

“I am just one of a very long list of community members, who enjoy doing what we can to help improve the lives of our families, friends, and neighbors in our hometown.” “It’s what we do.”
