On Tuesday night, Sep. 5 at River View, the Lady Dawgs stormed through the first two sets over the host Lady Bears 25-18 and 25-14, but dropped the last three 21-25, 17-25, and 14-16 to suffer their first loss in Muskingum Valley League action.
Lady Dawg senior Eva Dittmar piled up 23 kills and Ingrid Dittmar 40 assists for Tri-Valley, who also saw Annika Collet with 10 kills, Caity Journey 15 digs and Iris Lacey with four blocks. Eva Dittmar was also 23-of-23 on serves with six aces for Tri-Valley.
Haley Balo paced the winning Lady Bears with 23 kills as they improved to 6-2 with the Muskingum Valley League Big School home win. Kelsie Smith added 43 assists and 10 digs and Layla Olinger nine kills for River View; Brittany Henderson had 10 digs.
Back on Thursday night, August 24 on the road at Maysville, second-year TVHS volleyball coach Dani Lamonica’s Lady Dawg netters got their first win of the 2023 season with their 23-25, 25-12, 25-11, 25-11 four set win over the host Lady Panthers.
Lady Dawg senior Eva Dittmar led the winners with 16 kills, while classmate Caity Journey made 19 digs and fellow senior Sami Cameron had five blocks to lead the Tri-Valley defense. Lady Dawg sophomore Ingrid Dittmar set up 17 assists and was 100% serving, while junior Addison Wilson was also 100% at the service line for the black-and-gold.
Tri-Valley also picked up wins in the junior varsity and freshman contests as well at Maysville.
The Lady Dawgs returned to the friendly confines of The Dawg House back on Tuesday, Aug. 29, when they hosted John Glenn, and beat the visiting Lady Muskies by a 25-18, 25-13, 25-18 count.
Tri-Valley was led by Eva Dittmar and Annika Collet’s eight and seven kills respectively, then Ingrid Dittmar with 23 assists, Caity Journey’s 23/23 serving and four aces, Ingrid Dittmar’s seven blocks, Annika Collet’s three blocks, and Caity Journey 11 digs.
John Glenn was led by Emma Dolan’s seven kills, Emma Briggs and Aleea Mussleman’s five kills apiece, Brelynn Barr’s 14 assists, Aleea Mussleman’s eight aces, and Alaiah Johnson’s 18 digs. The Lady Dawgs won both JVA and JVB (freshman) matches as well.
Back on Thursday night, August 31 at Philo, the Lady Dawgs topped the host Lady Electrics in three straight sets 25-21, 25-11, 25-17. Aleigha Busse made 17 digs with five kills to pace Philo, while Olivia Fink had eight digs and two kills, Halli Harris seven digs, Miley Krouskoupf nine digs, Caitlin Rose five digs, four blocks and three kills and Makenna Staker seven digs.
The Lady Dawgs host the defending Muskingum Valley League champions Sheridan Lady Generals on Thursday night, September 7 in Dresden at The Dawg House.
