Maysville still on top of their season as they move on to Zanesville Saturday

Maysville Lady Panther got a piece of the pitch to get a base hit against Tri-Valley

Vs. Sheridan (4/2)

The Panthers hosted the Lady Generals on Thursday. Sheridan didn’t waste any time as they lit up their batting order to gain seven runs in the first inning off a number of singles.  Maysville grabbed one run in the bottom of the first to end the inning down 7 – 1.  The Lady Generals added at least one run in each subsequent inning, with two runs in the third to take a final win of 12 – 1 over Maysville.

The Lady Panthers will travel to play the Blue Devils in Zanesville on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 10 AM.

Vs. Crooksville (3/31)

The Lady Ceramics made the trip to Maysville on Tuesday to face the Panthers. Rollison homered for Crooksville in the first inning to drive in Driggs for a 2 – 0 lead. Maysville answered back with one run in the bottom of the inning, and another in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game at 2. The Panthers landed two more runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead for the first time in the game, 4 – 2. Crooksville knocked out three runs in the top of the fourth to edge ahead 5 – 4. Maysville called back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 6 – 5. The Ceramics tied the game in the top of the fifth, but Maysville rocketed forward in the bottom of the inning with a five-run rally kick-started by a double hit by Kaelynne Mitton to lead 11 – 6. By the end of the top of the seventh inning, Crooksville added four more runs, but they fell to the Panthers 11 – 10.

Vs. Crooksville (3/30)

The Panthers traveled to nearby Crooksville on Monday. After coming up dry in the top of the first inning, the Ceramics landed two runs in the bottom of the first to lead 2 – 0. Both teams were scoreless in the second and third innings before the Panthers tied the game and jumped ahead one in the top of the fourth inning to lead 3 – 2. Crooksville didn’t let the lead stand as they took it back in the bottom of the inning with two runs to lead 4 – 3. Maysville took another three runs in the top of the fifth inning to put them up 6 – 4. They pumped that lead up to 7 – 4 at the top of the seventh inning, but the Ceramics rallied in the bottom of the seventh for four runs to win the game with an 8 – 7 walk-off victory.

Vs. West Holmes (3/28)

On the road in Millersburg on Saturday, the Panthers were hoping to upset the Lady Knights. They started the game off right with a six-run first inning, facilitated by some pitching issues that the Knights were facing, to lead 6 – 0. West Holmes took three runs in the bottom of the inning, but still trailed as the Panthers tacked on another run to lead 7 – 3 in the top of the second. The Lady Knights spent the next two innings trying to close the gap, trailing 7 – 5 after four innings. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Knights scored three runs to lead for the first time in the game, 8 – 7. Maysville swung back into action in the top of the sixth inning with three additional runs to take back the lead, 10 – 8. They held that lead until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Knights landed three more runs to win the game 11 – 10.

Vs. Tri-Valley (3/26)

As the host for the game against the Tri-Valley Scotties, the Panthers were happy to open the scoring in the bottom of the first inning after holding the Lady Dawgs to a one, two, three in the top of the first. Maysville took a huge eight-run leap forward with help from a double by Lily Westfall and a number of singles to lead 8 – 0. The Panthers held that lead all the way through to the top of the fourth inning when the Scotties rallied for 12 runs, followed by 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning, eventually winning the matchup 29 – 13.
