On Sunday, July 5th, the Senior Pioneers took on the Darke County Heat at Gant Municipal Stadium in a huge 23 – 1 win. The Pioneers scored in every inning. The Pioneer defense was led by Andy Hardy, who started on the mound and earned the win, pitching 2 innings, with 1 unearned run, 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Brandon Bush went 2 innings with 4 strikeouts. Landon Harney pitched 2 innings with 3 strikeouts. And Rudy Ortiz came in as relief, pitching 2 innings with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts.
For the offense, Jaramie Neff went 3-3 with 2 doubles, 1 run and 4 RBIs. Brandon Pritchard went 3-3 with 4 runs and an RBI. Tanner Corder went 2-4 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs. Landon Harney went 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Ethan McClellan went 2-3 with 4 runs. Chayce Lundell went 2-4 with 1 run and an RBI. Steve Malenda went 2-4 with 2 runs. Rudy Ortiz went 1-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Sheldon Merriman went 1-3 with 1 run. Brad Barclay went 1-4 with 2 runs and an RBI. Chase Phillips scored a run, and James Altencourt added an RBI.
The Pioneers will face Chillicothe on Saturday, July 11th at Gant Municipal Stadium at 7:30 PM.
