The Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department held their annual car show on Sunday, September 3rd. A record number of vehicles entered the cruise-in style show, setting a new bar on the event’s 30th anniversary.
“[The turnout] it’s fantastic! Last year it rained, we had 87, and even at 87 in the rain, we thought that was fantastic,” said Chief Don Alexander of the Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
This year there were around 274 vehicles of varying types lining the grass lot near Duncan Falls Elementary School. There was a huge variety of beautifully immaculate vehicles to admire including motorcycles and tractors!
There was no cost for attendees, but there was a registration fee for participating vehicles. Additionally, there was a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. The department serves Wayne Township and the surrounding areas and is one of only four in the county to operate solely with volunteers. Proceeds from the show benefit the department.
200 Dash plaques were handed out compliments of The Energy Cooperative. BK the DJ ran the microphone with trivia questions and music. 75 Plus awards were presented at 4:30 p.m. to conclude this year’s show.
