The Friendship VII Chorus was chartered in 1976 by combining the Cambridge Cameo Chorus and the Zanesville Chorus. They decided to meet in New Concord, Ohio, thus naming their chorus after John Glenn’s space capsule, ‘The Friendship VII’. The chorus is celebrating this milestone by doing a 50th anniversary tour, with performances featuring great American artists and songs. (Below is a list of our tour dates.)
On October 4th, the chorus will have an open house at Cambridge Country Club from 1-4. They are inviting the public to come celebrate with them. The 50th Birthday/Anniversary Bash will give former members, neighboring choruses, friends and family a chance to reminisce the past 50 years and look forward to harmonizing, entertaining and meeting new friends in the coming years.
The Friendship VII Chorus is a part of the organization ‘SingUnited International’ (formerly Sweet Adelines). The International organization did a rebranding this year in order to bring connection, friendship, and music to the world as we grow into the future.
Our chorus members and performances include Muskingum, Guernsey, Morgan, Washington and most surrounding areas. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 at College Drive Presbyterian Church in New Concord, Ohio. Rehearsals are open to women 13+ to visit and experience the fun and fellowship that the chorus provides.
