The Lil’ Muskies Trampled The Colts At Home With 45 – 6 Victory

Hoping to repeat the win over the Colts from last year, the Lil’ Muskies were pumped up and ready to face their opponents. They wasted little time as the quarterback Noah Winland opened up the scoring with a keeper that took him straight into the endzone with the resulting 7 – 0 lead after the PAT.

For the Colts this was just the beginning of the punishment as the John Glenn team continued to dominate the field. Just minutes later, Winland found another opening in the defense to run through and push the score to 14 – 0.

The Lil’ Muskies were not letting up in the second quarter as they turned two touchdowns into five, leaving the Colts out to pasture as they went into the locker room down 35 – 0.

After halftime John Glenn was facing a stauncher defense from Meadowbrook, the Colts were trying to hold their ground but kicker Will Nicolozakes found a break in the line that he was able to kick a field goal through to pop their lead to 38 – 0.

Just a short time later, Winland found one more track to make it to the end zone and he took it making John Glenn’s final score 45.

The Colts surprised the Lil’ Muskies early in the fourth quarter with their own touchdown, but that was as far as they would go and John Glenn took the game 45 – 6.

The following Friday, September 29th, the Lil’ Muskies traveled to Maysville to take on the Panthers on their home field. Both teams were on level ground fighting back and forth to get to the endzone. By the third quarter of the game both teams were locked in at 7 points each, a score they would carry to the end of regular play.

Carrying into overtime the battle was still raging until there was under a minute left, that is when the Lil’ Muskies landed a successful field goal to take the final lead of the game at 10 – 7.

Next up for New Concord is the visiting River View Black Bears on Friday, October 6th.
