Zanesville Post 28 Sr Legion look to game against Post 68 Friday

Vs. Wheeling Post 1 (6/20)

On the road in Wheeling, the Sr. Legion fell behind quickly as Wheeling landed four runs in the bottom of the first, 4 – 0.  Post 1 came back with three runs in the bottom of the second inning, one run in the bottom of the third, and three final runs in the bottom of the fourth to lead 11 – 0, which would become the winning score after a Sr. Legion shutout.

The Sr. Legion will face Post 68 Sr. Legion on Friday, June 26th, at Gant Stadium, with a 7 PM game time.

Vs. Post 159 Senior (6/19)

Post 159 stepped to the plate in Zanesville on Friday and proceeded to drive in four runs in the top of the first inning to lead 4 – 0. Zanesville answered back with a run in the bottom of the inning, but still trailed 4 – 1. The second inning went without a score for both teams, but Post 159 picked up in the top of the third with four more runs, which they duplicated in the top of the fourth to lead 12 – 1 before a mercy ruling at the bottom of the fifth inning that gave them the win. 

Vs. Beverly/Lowell Post 389/750 (6/17)

The team from Beverly commanded the game from the start on Wednesday in Zanesville when they slammed out two runs in the top of the first inning to lead 2 – 0. A triple and a double at the top of the second pushed them up to an 8 – 0 lead. While continuing to hold back Post 29, Beverly put up two more doubles at the top of the third, 13 – 0. With a pair of runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, the visitors took a 17 – 0 shutout win over Zanesville.

Vs. Lancaster Post 11 Sr (6/16)

In Lancaster on Tuesday, Zanesville Post 29 Sr. Legion tried to fight back from a 7 – 0 lead from the first two innings as they put up three runs in the top of the fourth and fifth innings, but couldn’t eclipse the hosting Lancaster team and fell 8 – 3. 

Vs. Cambridge/Belle Valley Post 84/641 (6/15)

Cambridge/Belle Valley visited Gant Stadium on Monday for a doubleheader against the Sr. Legion. In game one, the visitors popped out to a 5 – 1 lead after two innings before battling through to win the matchup 12 – 6. 

Game two was much closer for Zanesville, who made a late-inning comeback from a 3 – 0 Cambridge lead to tie the game and jump out 4 – 3 after a four-run fifth inning. Post 84 turned around and blasted out six runs in the top of the sixth to win 9 – 4 and sweep the doubleheader.
