Vs. Meadowbrook (10/24)
The West Muskingum Tornadoes delivered a powerful statement Friday night at Kimes Road, dominating the Meadowbrook Colts and growing their momentum down the stretch of the season to take a 21 – 7 victory.
Coming off a huge win on the road against MVL rival Coshocton, the Tornadoes were hoping to keep the momentum going and pick up a win at home against the Colts. West took the initiative from the kickoff to control the game, taking a 14 – 7 lead at halftime.
After the intermission, the Colts tried to mount a comeback, but the Tornado defense proved to strong for them as West added another touchdown to their total to lead 21 – 7. The final quarter seemed to flash by for the Colts, who were trying desperately to catch up to the Tornadoes, but they were unsuccessful, and West Muskingum took the win.
Vs. Coshocton (10/17)
Friday night on Stewart Field in Coshocton, the Tornadoes stepped onto the field to play the Redskins. The game started out slowly, with the two defenses working overtime, so much so that the first period ended scoreless. Coshocton hit the scoreboard in the second quarter, grabbing 14 points before the end of the half, but West almost doubled it, leaving the Redskins at a 27 – 14 deficit during the break.
When play continued, the Tornadoes put their halftime plan to work and pushed ahead, grabbing another 20 points in the third quarter to lead 47 – 14 heading into the final minutes of the game. West found the endzone one more time in the final quarter and kept the Redskins at bay for the entire second half to win 54 – 14.
