Vs. Capital (10/29)
In New Concord on Wednesday night, the Fighting Muskies hosted the Capital Comets on the North Athletic Turf for the Morgan’s Message Game. Capital jumped out in front right away, taking two goals before the halftime break, while holding the Muskies back from scoring.
Back on the field, the Comets kept up the offensive, pumping out two more goals despite a lone goal from the Muskies’ Destiny Garcia. The Comets went home with a 4 – 1 victory.
Senior Madison Yenke led the Muskies with 3 shots. Senior Hannah Ritchie contributed with an assist. Freshman Lucie Cotner played all 74 minutes between the pipes and registered 8 saves. Senior Kyleigh Dahlgren finished off the game in goal. Maggie McGlone, Lizzie Elliott, and Kendra Kovacs all scored a goal for Capital. Lauren Hinshaw played all 90 minutes in goal for the Comets and had 4 saves
The Fighting Muskies will move on to their final regular-season conference matchup against Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, November 1st. Kickoff is set for 1 PM.
Vs. Heidelberg (10/25)
The Muskingum Women’s Soccer team traveled to Heidelberg to play against the Student Princes on Saturday at the Hidden Valley Sports Complex in Tiffin.
Heidelberg got the only goal of the game in the first half and held the score fast to win the matchup.
Junior Emma Morton led the Muskies with three shots, and two of those were on goal.
Sophomore Destiny Garcia added a shot for the Muskies. Freshman Lucie Cotner played all 90 minutes in goal for the Muskies and registered 13 saves. Brianna Braatz had the goal for Heidelberg. Brigid Enright played all 90 minutes in goal for the Student Princes and tallied 3 saves
Vs. Marietta (10/22)
The Pioneers rolled into town on Wednesday and stepped onto the North Athletic Turf in New Concord. The two teams had a pretty even play style, defenses were on full alert, but the Fighting Muskies faltered in the second half for a split second, allowing Marietta to slip one into the net.
Senior Madison Yenke led the Muskies with 3 shots. Junior Emma Morton and Freshman Lindsay Davis each tallied 2 shots. Junior Emma Pratt, Senior Hannah Ritchie, Freshman Natalie Wood, Sophomore Amanda Craley, Sophomore Destiny Garcia, Freshman Kaylie Holmes, and Freshman Daisy Goldberg each had a shot. Freshman Lucie Cotner played all 90 minutes between the pipes of the Muskies and registered 10 saves. Shelby Carr scored the lone goal for Marietta. Francesca Agliolo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Pioneers and had 6 saves.
