The Muskies faced the Polar Bears on Thursday at Findlay University for a doubleheader.
In game one, Muskingum was the first to light up the scoreboard, with a run in the top of the fourth inning. The Muskies finished with 24 at-bats, 4 runs, 5 hits, and 1 RBI. Junior Bethany Rodman pitched all seven innings, recording four strikeouts, allowing just two hits, and one run. She also had three hits and an RBI at the plate.
In game two, the Muskies hit the scoreboard right away to take a 2 – 0 lead at the beginning of the game, and then compounded that to a 5 – 0 lead in the top of the second before the Polar Bears answered back with three runs between the second and third inning to trail 5 – 3. A four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth for Ohio Northern gave them a 7 – 5 advantage over Muskingum, but that was short-lived as the Muskies bounced back with six runs in the top of the seventh inning to lead 11 – 7. With the Polar Bears only bouncing back with one run in the bottom of the inning, the Fighting Muskies swept the doubleheader with an 11 – 8 win.
