Hanover Post 764 Jr Legion Edged Past Newark despite late inning runs

Vs. Newark (6/24)

On the road to nearby Newark on Wednesday, the Post 764 team jumped out to a 1 – 0 lead after a single by Darek Jones brought home Jake Hill. Newark tied the game in the bottom of the inning, but Martin Little scored in the next inning off of a Garrett Minton single, 2 – 1. Jones scored in the top of the fourth on a Braden Patterson groundout, 3 – 1. Newark grabbed a run in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap, 3 – 2. Bentley Minton singled in the top of the fifth to bring home Hill, 4 – 2. A ground out by Hill brought in Patterson in the sixth, followed by Little scoring on a passed ball, 6 – 2. Despite Newark rallying for three runs in the bottom of the inning, Hanover edged past them with a 6 – 5 win.

Vs. Zanesville Post 29 Jr Legion (6/23)

Post 764 hosted Zanesville’s Post 29 Jr Legion on Tuesday, who came in swinging, building up a 10 – 0 lead before Hanover could squeeze in a run to avoid a shutout in the third inning. Zanesville kept pushing forward for a 13 – 1 mercy victory as Hanover was unable to recover.

Vs. Zanesville Post 29 Jr Legion (6/19)

On the road Friday, at Zanesville’s Gant Municipal Stadium, Post 764 tried to mount a comeback in the third inning after a strong 5 – 0 start by Post 29’s Jr Legion. Garrett Minton scored when Spencer Sindel was hit by a pitch, and Brayden Liggett nabbed a run when Carter Waites was also hit by a pitch, closing in on the advantage, but still down 5 – 2, before a huge 12-run fourth inning for Zanesville, that locked in the final result of a 19 – 2 loss.

Vs. Coshocton American Legion (6/18)

Hanover hosted Coshocton on Thursday, and took a quick 2 – 0 lead off of a double by Waites that brought in Darek Jones, and Bentley Minton, but Coshocton answered back with a 9-run second inning before eventually taking down post 764 15 – 5.
