Maysville sets their sites on another untouchable season with three more conference wins

Vs. West Muskingum (12/19)

The Panthers headed over the hill to nearby West Muskingum on Friday to play the Tornadoes. With the stadium filled to near capacity, West M. was ready to give them a surprise challenge despite losing heavy handedly twice last season to the would-be State Champions. Maysville was firing off shots quickly and moving at a breakneck pace, but the Tornadoes were holding their own, despite trailing West M. pulled within one point with the Panthers lead at 32 – 31 at one point in the third quarter before some big threes from the boys kicked in the afterburners to launch forward to take a final 79 – 50 win over West.

Maysville will host the River View Black Bears on Tuesday with a 7:15 PM game time.

Vs. Morgan (12/16)

The Panther Pound filled to the brim Tuesday night as the Morgan Raiders came to town. From the tipoff, Maysville had the upper hand while Morgan’s defense struggled to make blocks as the Panthers jumped out to a 23 – 13 lead by the end of the first quarter. The pace kept intensifying for the Raiders as Maysville continued to make plays, and land three pointers and jump shots, sending them to the halftime break with a 45 – 26 deficit.

The break only steeled the Panther’s resolve as they came back to the court unable to be touched as they compiled their lead, jumping up to a 63 – 34 advantage before the turn of the fourth quarter. As the last minutes rang out on the scoreboard, the Panthers hit a 30 point lead expediting the game, but that didn’t slow them down, when the dust settled Maysville took a 79 – 42 win.

Vs. Philo (12/12)

Neighboring Philo Electrics came to play Maysville on Friday.  The game was a whirlwind for the Electrics with Maysville not only taking charge but seemingly pummeling them with shots as they fell behind 21 – 3 in the first period and an even more substantial disadvantage before halftime.

Maysville didn’t give their opponents time to recover after the break, scoring and defending with a fierce tenacity as they dispatched the Electrics by a final 79 – 23 score.
