Vs. Indian Valley (5/27)
The Lil’ Muskies traveled to Gnadenhutten on Wednesday to play the Braves on their home field for a chance to move on in the postseason. Straight away, Indian Valley pointed out why they were the number 1 seed in the Division with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, followed by two in the second, one in the third, and two more in the bottom of the fourth inning to lead 7 – 0. The Muskies’ batting order started to fight back in the top of the fifth with a run and three more in the sixth, but fell short of a comeback, falling 7 – 4 to the Braves, ending their season.
Vs. Meadowbrook (5/19)
In Byesville on Tuesday, the Lil’ Muskies came alive in the second inning with a three-run score to break out to an early 3 – 0 lead. After a quick inning with the Colts at bat, John Glenn blew open the third inning with eight runs to lead 11 – 0. In the bottom of the fifth inning, after John Glenn added a twelfth run to their total, the Colts lit up the board for three runs, but that was the end of their scoring for the game, and the Lil’ Muskies took the Division IV East 1 Sectional Title with a 13 – 3 victory.
Vs. Buckeye Trail (5/15)
John Glenn hosted the Warriors on Friday in New Concord. Right out of the gate, Buckeye Trail grabbed a run to lead 1 – 0. The Muskies answered back in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game, 1 – 1. The Warriors edged back out to a 2 – 1 lead at the top of the third, John Glenn rallied in the bottom of the inning for six big runs to leap ahead 7 – 2. Over the next several innings, the Warriors tried to catch up, but were still trailing 11 – 5 after six innings. Buckeye Trail put together a slew of runs at the top of the seventh, but stopped just short of matching the Lil’ Muskies, and John Glenn sent the Warriors home empty-handed after the 11 – 10 win.
