Zanesville tennis team rolls into the season up 3 – 0

Zanesville's Subh Patel returns the ball in a tennis match against Cambridge

Vs. Coshocton (4/2)

Zanesville defeated Coshocton 3 -2 on Thursday. Blue Devil winners were: At 1st singles, Connor Baldwin 6-1, 6-2, over Chase Danelek. 2nd singles Subh Patel won  6- 1, 6-1 past Emme Jackson. The first doubles team of Allen Vance and Chase Gillogly defeated Jett Aronhalt and Eve Trejo  6-2, 6-3. Coshocton’s wins were at No.3 singles with Jackson Makafarina downing Zanesville’s Clifton Birchett 6- 2, 6-3, and at No. 2 doubles where Lucy Baylor and Kayla Moore won 6-2, 6-3 past Noah Zorne and James McCandlish by a score of 6- 2, 6-3. Zanesville is now 3 – 0 on the season.

The Blue Devils will face Mt. Vernon on Tuesday on the road, starting at 4:30 PM. Zanesville will have home court advantage on Wednesday against Newark, starting at 4:30 PM.

Vs. Claymont (3/30)

The Blue Devils tennis team defeated Claymont on Monday, 5 – 0. The winners for Zanesville were:  At No.1 singles Connor Baldwin defeated Claymonts Cooper Newton, 6-3, 6-3, No. 2 singles Subh Patel downed Korbin Byers, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles, Clifton Birchett won over Aubree Potts, 3-6, 6-1, 15 -13 in a Super Tie Breaker. In Doubles action, the No. 1 team for ZHS, of Chase Gillogly and Allen Vance, defeated the team of Grace Canfield and Easton Shiaherry,  6- 1, 6 -3. The 2nd doubles team of Noah Zorne and James McCandlish finished off Gabby Best and Julie Guzman by a score of 6 – 2, 6 – 3. 

Vs. Cambridge (3/27)

Zanesville won its tennis match over Cambridge, Friday afternoon, 3  –  2 . Zanesville’s win category started with No. 1 singles Connor Baldwin, who won over Cambridge’s Caleb Vincent, 4 – 6, 6 – 1, 6 – 2 in a tiebreaker. No. 2 singles Subh Patel defeated Silos Hutchison 6 – 2, 6 – 2. In doubles action, at No. 1 doubles, Chase Gillogly and Allen Vance beat Quentin Stora and Tyler Oliver 1 – 6, 6 – 3, 6 – 4. The Bobcats’ wins were No. 3 singles with Ezekiel Bergeson downing Clifton Birchett 6 – 1, 6 – 4. And at No. 2 doubles, Sebastian Barraza and Austin Krise defeated Noah Zorne and James McCandlish 6 – 4, 2 – 6, 4 – 6.
