Becky Vansickle looking forward to retirement after 44 years in banking

Becky Vansickle announced her retirement from The Community Bank in March. She has been serving as the office manager for the Frazeysburg Community Bank, working there since they opened an office in Frazeysburg 17 years ago.

She has had a long career in banking that started in 1982 with a different bank. A friend of hers knew she was looking for work, and that friend told her dad, who worked at the bank, about Vansickle needing a job. He suggested she apply where he worked. After initially turning her down, they reconsidered and called her in for an interview. She eventually found her way to The Community Bank.

“When The Community Bank bought this office, some of the previous co-workers that I had worked with before had already moved over to Community Bank, and they contacted me and said, ‘Hey, the community’s buying the Frazeysburg office, why don’t you apply for that?’ So I did, and here I am,” Vansickle said.

Over the years, Vansickle has been very involved in both the Dresden and Frazeysburg communities as an active member of the Dresden Community Association, a Leo Club advisor for the Lions Club in Frazeysburg, a member of the Frazeysburg Revitalization Association, and previously she served two terms on the board for Muskingum’s Soil and Water Conservation District.

“We’re retiring to free up time for farm life and family, and hopefully some campfires and get some travel, get some camping in,” Vansickle explained.

She is excited to begin her retirement, but will miss helping customers problem-solve and help them by finding and filling needs that they may have.

“Thank you to the community,” said Vansickle, “and thank you for all of the friendships and relationships built over the years.”

An open house retirement party for Vansickle will be held on April 30 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Frazeysburg Community Bank office, located at 10 W 3rd Street.
