Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition to Host Third Annual Career Connections Camp

Zanesville, OH – The Third Annual Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition Career Connections Camp will be held from June 3 – June 7, 2024. It is open to up to 25 Muskingum County African-American students entering 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year.

Over a 5-day period, students will attend college campus tours, local industry visits from Muskingum County businesses, learn encouraging and real stories from local entrepreneurs, and participate in hands-on skill development activities. The Career Connections Camp is free to all participants and includes free meals, materials, and transportation to and from their home and all activities.

Finally, each student who successfully completes the camp receives an iPad to continue their own career research, as well as the opportunity to participate in post-camp shadowing or brief internships. We have a series of post-camp “Reconnect Days” with the youth to bring them together and continue sharing information and support.

Applications are now open until filled. Families should visit http://tinyurl.com/mcsjcapp, the Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition Facebook page, or email muskingumsocialjustice@gmail.com

This Camp, sponsored by the Park National Bank, IBEW 1105, Zanesville Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Zanesville Daybreak, the African-American Community Fund, Zane State College, and Fulmer Insurance Agency, is hosted at Ohio University-Zanesville/Zane State College campuses.
