Muskingum goes for it at OHSAA State Track Championships

Muskingum County was well represented at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships held in Columbus, June 4th – June 7th. Seven teams from Muskingum County made up the 594-team field competing in track events.

Ashlynn Kuklica finished 18th in the Girls 800 Meter Run; she also grabbed a second-place podium finish in the Girls 1600 Meter Run and seventh place in the Girls 3200 Meter Run for the Lil’ Muskies. In Regionals, Kuklica took third in the Girls 800 Meter Run, second in the Girls 1600 Meter Run, and fourth in the Girls 3200 Meter Run. Back on May 20th at D3 Districts, she was the champion in all three events. 

In the Boys 800 Meter Run, Ethan Zell finished in third place. Landen Cornelius finished 10th in the Boys Discus for John Glenn. Zell finished second in the Boys 800 Meter Run at Districts, then went on to grab a fourth-place position in the event at D3 Regionals on May 30th.

Maysville 

In the Girls High Jump, Emma Tamasovich finished fifth for the Panthers. Tamasovich took second in the Girls 100 Meter Dash and championed the Girls High Jump and Long Jump at Districts before moving on to grab a third-place podium space in Girls High Jump and winning the Girls Long Jump at Regional competition.

Bella Van Wey won the second-place position in both the Girls Discus and Girls Shot Put. Van Wey was the champion in both events at Districts and Regionals this season.

In the Wheelchair Shot Put, Paige Calendine took fifth place. She was the D3 Regional Champion in the event for 2026.

Philo

Delylah Boetcher finished ninth in the Girls Pole Vault at State after finishing fourth in the event at Districts and taking a third-place position at Regionals.

Aidan Mahon took ninth place in the Boys High Jump and eighth in the Boys Long Jump. In District competition, Mahon was champion in both events. He took first in High Jump at Regionals and fourth in Boys Long Jump. Aidan also took sixth place in the Boys 200 Meter Dash at Regionals.

Tri-Valley

Lydia Ripple took third place in the Girls 200 Meter Dash at State Competition. In D2 Regional competition, Ripple took fourth in the Girls 100 and 200 Meter Dash. She was the District champion in both events. 

In the Girls 1600 Meter Run, Erin Hogue finished 18th at state. Hogue grabbed a District title in the event and a second-place finish in the 800 Meter Run. At Regionals, she finished sixth in the Girls 800 Meter Run and fifth in the Girls 1600 Meter Run. 

Colton Rollison finished sixth in the Boys Long Jump. He was the D2 District Champion in the event and took third in Regionals.

West Muskingum

For the Tornadoes, Carter Smith finished fifth in the Boys High Jump. Smith took third at D4 Districts and went on to take fifth at Regionals before state competition.

Zanesville

Chloe Wahl took sixth place in the Girls Pole Vault. She took second place in D3 Districts and fourth in the regional competition.

Jewelianna Hampton finished 18th in the Girls Discus for the Blue Devils. Hampton was the second-place finisher in the event at D3 Districts and finished fifth in Regionals.

In the Boys 300 Meter Hurdles, Camron Willett was the State Champion for Zanesville. Willett finished second in D2 Districts and took third in Regionals.
