Ten games in with nine straight wins Maysville sets sights on Meadowbrook

Maysville's Gavin Ferguson finds an opening to complete a pass.

Vs New Lexington (01/06)

The Maysville Panthers hit the road on Tuesday to travel to nearby New Lexington High School. In a high-paced matchup, Maysville dominated the scoring, leading most of the way through the game and finishing with a final winning score of 72 – 30.

The Panthers will host the Meadowbrook Colts on Friday, January 9th at 7:15 PM.

Vs St. Vincent – St. Mary (12/27)

Just after the holiday, the Panthers rode North to Akron for a Saturday game at St. Vincent-St. Mary.  It was a close match against the Fighting Irish, who led at the end of the first quarter 19 – 18.  The Panthers fought hard in the second quarter to not have a deficit at halftime, and they were successful, tying up the game and taking a slight 35 – 33 lead at the break.

As the two teams took to the court in the third quarter, Maysville charged forward to increase their lead to 55 – 48 by the end of the period. The Fighting Irish tried to recoup their lead for the first quarter, but it just got further and further out of sight as Maysville did what they do best, rallying in the final minutes for a double-digit score to take a 74 – 66 victory.

Vs River View (12/23)

Maysville hosted the River View Black Bears on Tuesday before Christmas. The Panthers didn’t give their guests a chance as they flew forward to a 26 – 10 lead within a few minutes of the games start. The Black Bears burst forward in the second quarter, but so too did the Panthers as they forced a 55 – 33 deficit on River View at halftime.

Play stagnated after the break as both defenses were at a near standstill with Maysville holding a 57 – 33 lead as the fourth quarter started. The Black Bears posted another 14 points for the last minutes of the game, but Maysville pumped out 18 points to win the matchup 75 – 47.
